there's so much here that my heart feels echoes words that have been unspoken in me - thank you for unlocking doors whose keys i'd misplaced

and your layout style - it's stunning - and i hadn't a clue that that 'off the page, floating in space' type look was possible on this platform - if you're willing to point me to where i can learn how to do it, i'd be grateful

even this 'Also share to Notes' addition to this comment block is something i didn't know is possible, or i can go to learn how to do that

(ahhh, the mysteries... chuckling am i)

dear emma, thank you for your kind words and profound response. 🫂❤️‍🩹 the analogy of unlocking doors of misplaced keys is such a sweet way to put it, and it warms my heart for this comic of mine to have such an effect on you. it is truly difficult to unlearn conditioning, and i'm just happy to hear that it has reached you in the way it has.

as for "off the page, floating in space" type look, would you mean the paper-like textures of this comic? there are some websites i could send to you about that. ☺️

as for “share to notes”, there should be an option under the “buttons” tabs when you create a post, that gives readers the option to share it. do let me know if i understood what you meant!

thanks for the "share to notes" bit - got it

as for the "off the page floating in space" stuff - i keep forgetting that posts take on a different background colour depending on where it's accessed - if accessed via our profiles it tends to be black (though you've made yours a gorgeous rich chocolate brown) and if access via our websites it tends to be white (and yours is a soft warm off white/yellow/green/brown (?) )

from this remembering i'm confident i'll find the way to tweak my backgrounds to personal them

i think the key may be in the "website editor" feature in the dashboard! i remember being able to choose main and accent colors over there. i'm not too sure on how it influenced my personal profile (the app) but i feel that was carried over from the edits i had done on the site here.

Wow, I am so so glad you are making art for you and digging deep into what's been buried. I didn't know you also made comics, this is amazing storytelling❤️‍🩹

thank you, as always ❤️‍🩹🫂 it's tough sometimes for sure, but i think i've been much happier in expressing these things in any way i can.

i do have another short comic in the works right now! i post them sometimes mostly in notes, but i figured to put some of them as posts as well. :]

I recognize myself in this struggle too.

Waiting for the right decision, hoping it will be the right one.

Not recognizing myself in what I make.

Maybe we are defined too easily by our decisions,

and forget the freedom still beneath.

thank you for reading, and for your insight. 🤍 i feel it’s harder in the phases you feel disconnect from what you do, it makes too easy for doubt to creep in.

the last part you said is definitely something to think about. too much pressure on the choices we make can shave off nuance in complex situations. there are efforts in what we do to get by still.
